Ahhhh yes.. Our wedding reception. Basi? Hehe.. Ia kot.. But I still haven't blogged about it plus macam Sha cakap; selagi inai di jari masih ada, selagi tu la considered pengantin baru kot hehe..
So anyways, our reception theme was pretty much the same as our Nikah theme: White & Green; "Au Naturale". And since I'm such an environment lover, there was no better reception than a Garden Wedding. Alhamdulillah, we didn't have to look far for a garden because there's a park right behind my parents house hehe.. And as mentioned in one of my very early entries (click here to see photos of what the park actually looks like) we managed to speak to the developer and they allowed us to use the park for our reception.. Yippe!!
As usual, untuk the reception pun we didn't want anything fancy or over-the-top. Simplicity will do, thank you very much. Venue dah ada, apa lagi, research ah! So after plenty of research we had a vision in mind. And with the help of my colleagues, our dream garden wedding became a reality.. =D
The decorations stretched all the way from the carpark right to our reception marquee. To begin with, the stairs were decorated and we had two arches with greenery put up along the walkway. The trees along the walkway to the reception marquee were decorated with flowers and butterflies. At the tree tops, ribbons were stretched from either side to give a "canopy walkway" feel. The trees along the walkway opposite the reception marquee plak were decorated with white and green satin materials to add intimacy to the reception (tak nak la nanti orang lain yang takde kena mengena duk ngintai² our reception la kan..) Dekat sebelah our reception marquee plak ada gazebo so kita pakai balik the organza curtains yang i tempah for our house during the Nikah. During the reception, I noticed that a number of our guests chose the gazebo as their chill out spot so I guess berjaya la kot taruk the organza curtains kat sana hehe..
Inside the reception marquee itself, everything was white. ALL WHITE. Because err.. Macam Miss X sebut in her entry 2days ago, memang susah nak cari supplier yang supply warna² yang tak shocking. Because I wanted apple green tapi supplier tu cuma ada errr... buruk green hehe.. Dah macam fluorescent green dah aku tengok colour dia so no, no, no. All white je please. Thanks eh! The marquee was then decorated with ceiling centerpieces that were made using plastic grass mats that were rolled up and accented with cutsie butterflies. I loike! FYI, plastic grass mats tu boleh dibeli kat kedai² pemborong bunga tiruan and butterflies tu kat mana² kedai pemborong barang-barang perkahwinan. Kalau lagi rajin, buatlah sendiri butterfly tu hehe.. Table deco pun sangat² simple.. Just some hand made flower arrangements.. ;)
Last but not least, our pelamin. We got the pelamin from the same supplier that did our pelamin for the Nikah. And thank God this time she did exactly what i told her cos right after the Nikah we popped by the park just to make sure that everything was where it was supposed to be. Kalau salah lagi, tak tau la nak cakap apa. Cos lepas Nikah tu semua settle dah kul 11+ malam dah and kalau ada kesilapan kat pelamin tu it would probably have been too late to fix the problem. But yes, pelaminnya perfect! Just what I had wanted! It was all white and the same type of plastic grass mats that we used as our deco centerpieces were used as a backdrop of the pelamin. And of course, it had to be decorated with lots and lots of fresh flowers..
Makanan? MMMmmmm... Makanan memang sangat² sedap ok! We used an Indian caterer called 'Gobal Catering'. Yes, i tau.. Korang mesti tertanya, "Indian"?! Yes, Indian. Because dia ni handal. Dia boleh masak ikut citarasa India ataupun Melayu sebab ingredients yang dia gunakan tu berbeza bila dia masak untuk wedding Melayu berbanding ingredients yang dia gunakan untuk wedding India. Kawan² semua makan sampai 2-3 round, saudara-mara lagi la, toksah cakap. Sampai tahap a few of my relatives amik contact number dia and ada sorang yang siap tanya whether dia bleh datang Singapore untuk masak tuk future function dia hehe.. Even aku yang kat meja pengantin tu pun teringin nak melantak makanan tu tapi takle la kan sebab kena control chantek hehe.. Rasanya i pernah blog pasal dia but anyways, this guy has got over 25 years of experience in the catering industry. Dan yang paling penting he even caters for Sultan of Johor punya family functions so kalau Sultan pun pakai dia, mestilah sedappppp.. Kalau sesapa nak contact dia, just drop me an email k?
So itulah dia, the summary of our garden wedding reception. Pasal baju, MUA dan sewaktu dengannya, tunggu dulu ye.. Lain entry kita sambung hehe.. For now, here are some photos of our reception.. ;)
